Day 1: The Family Is Back Together

Axel Weinmann

Apart from a cow interrupting the session for five minutes, it was an easy first day full of smiles and hugs at Reschenpass, South Tyrol, Italy. The riders were stunned by the magnitude of the new set-up as it was much crazier and bigger than the year before.

Some of the riders chilled out after long travel days but others were already taking it seriously. Adolf Silva (ESP) did a double back-flip on the Suzuki twin-jump on the second try while Sam Reynolds (GBR) and Patrick Schweika (GER) were seen busting out the quarter pipe pretty high.

Overall there were a lot of big airs and nice tricks, while the riders tried to get used to the new step-up. After the session, everyone jumped onboard to prepare the course as the ground was quite soft. The weather forecast for the coming days  looking good and some guys already shared that they plan big things for the course. By late afternoon, the athletes were ready to get some rest and spend time thinking about what they’ll be able do with the insane new course.
